Algenspiegel or “Seaweed Mirror” translates into wood something of the sinuousness and subtle movement of the maritime vegetation in its original habitat, in a kinetic sculpture that promotes the dual function environment: one, contemplative; another, the accessory holder (hats, coats, bags) at the entrance of a residence or an anteroom of an office. The creation process begins with sketches followed by the modeling of the piece in a natural scale for study of ergonomics and shape. From the mold the wood is cut, glued and pressed, to then proceed to thinning and finishing.
