Pénareia is born upon the desire to reproduce in wood the sensation caused by the contact of our feet with that undulating sand built by sea waves, the sensation of stepping on a surface that is both soft and rigid, wet and dense, which massages the feet in a subtle and transforming way. A mat to step on barefoot. A little piece of the beach in the house. The creation process begins with sketches followed by the modeling of the piece in a natural scale for study of ergonomics and shape. From the mold the wood is cut, glued and pressed, to then proceed to thinning and finishing.
