The Algae sculpture was inspired by a metal engraving that I made of seaweed, in another attempt to transpose into the three-dimensional environment formal surveys of other languages. It is a diptych, two pieces that formally connect, in a continuous and uninterrupted movement, as if they were still dancing gently to the movement of the waters. The creation process begins with sketches followed by the modeling of the piece in a natural scale for study of ergonomics and shape. From the mold the wood is cut, glued and pressed, to then proceed to thinning and finishing.
